ANC Youth League activists and branch members of the movement from Cape Town will be shutting down the offices of the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) in a plight to demand answers on the implementation process for free education.
The youth league said the neglect towards students continues to show its ugly head at institutions of higher education and training facilities.
ANCYL added that they will be demonstrating at NSFAS to demand direct answers from its CEO Andile Nongogo.
Last week, students at Wits University engaged in peaceful protests, demanding free registration and the clearance of debt, to ensure that no one is turned away from education as a result of not having money.
Higher education minister Blade Nzimande announced on Monday, 08 March 2021 that the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) is facing a financial shortfall.
