The Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) on Monday arrested four police officers from the Public Order Policing Unit in connection with the death of Mthokozisi Ntumba.
Ntumba was shot and killed during the protests by students of the University of Witwatersrand, in Braamfontein, Johannesburg.
IPID spokesperson Ndileka Cola said the four officers will appear at the Johannesburg Magistrate Court on Wednesday 17 March 2021. “They are facing charges of murder, attempted murder and defeating the end of justice.” Said Cola.
