The Hawks’ Serious Commercial Crime Investigation team in Mpumalanga arrested a 48-year- old attorney attorney on Monday, 8 March 2021 for alleged theft.
It is alleged that in June 2020, Themba Daniel Mabunda stole approximately R310 000 from the law firm’s trust account.
Captain Dineo Lucy Sekgotodi said the amount was meant as a deposit to initiate the transfer of a purchased property.
“The accused appeared before the Nelspruit Magistrate’s Court on Monday and he was granted R10 000.00 bail”.
Sekgotodi added said the case has been transferred to the Nelspruit Commercial Crime Court where Mabunda is expected to make a follow-up appearance on 26 May 2021.
