A 35- year-old ex-wife who allegedly hired a hitman to remove her ex-husband on earth permanently, was remanded in custody for conspiracy to murder.
Elelwani Jane Nedzamba appeared in Thohoyandou Magistrate’s Court on Friday after she was arrested by The Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime Investigation members on Wednesday.
It is alleged that Nedzamba hired a hitman in November 2020 to kill her ex-husband who is a police official in Vhembe District , over a child maintenance dispute.
The Hawks provincial spokesperson Captain Matimba Maluleke said “The Hawks received a tip-off about the plot and kept an observation until the Nedzamba was arrested the time she went to withdraw money from the bank to pay the hitman.”
It is alleged that she promised a hitman R 10. 000 once the ex-husband was permanently removed on earth.
She will appear again in the Thohoyandou Magistrates’ court on the 14th of April 2021.
