Former president Jacob Zuma is on Monday expected to appear at the State Capture Commission. Zuma was compelled by the Constitutional Court to appear at the Commission from 15 to 19 February.
In a statement issued two weeks ago, the former president said he received support from members of the ANC and the public, following constitutional court judgement. Zuma said he doesn’t fear going to prison.
Zuma said he had never refused to appear before the commission. “ I have never said that I cannot appear before the commission but have said I cannot appear before Justice Zondo because of a well-founded apprehension of bias and history of personal relations between Chief Justice and myself”.
Zuma added that the State Capture Commission should have been named “ The Commission of Inquiry into Allegation of State Capture against Jacob Zuma as it has obviously been established to investigate me specifically”.
The question so many people are asking themselves is : will the former president defy the court by not appearing at the Commission.
