Four More Suspects In SAPS Fuel Card Fraud Arrested

The Hawks’ continuous operation in the alleged fraud and theft involving SAPS fuel cards resulted in the arrest of four more suspects aged between 30 and 51 in Groblersdal area on Tuesday, 09 February 2021.

The two petrol attendants and two cashiers from the local filling station unlawfully refuelled their private vehicles and purchased unauthorised items at the filling station.

Limpopo Hawks spokesperson Matimba Maluleke said it is alleged that the suspects would wait for motorists who would pay cash and swipe the fleet cards in return for money and share it amongst themselves.

Five police officials who are allegedly involved in these illegal activities were arrested on Monday, 08 February 2021 in Groblersdal.  

All the arrested suspects including the five (5) police officials will appear in the Groblersdal Magistrates court on Wednesday, 10 February 2021

Meanwhile, the operation to search for other outstanding suspects continues.
