Police in North West arrested two males on Monday, 25 January 2021 in Brits. This was after police received a tip-off about an apparent contravention of the Lockdown Regulations – selling and / or dispensing of alcohol by the shop owner whose store sells milk.

North West police spokesperson Sabata Mokgwabone said after receiving a tip off, the police observed and ultimately went to the store.

“Upon arrival, the store manager was found selling liquor to a client. A search was conducted leading to discovery of liquor hidden inside potato bags. Both the store manager and the client were arrested and issued with fines.”
