Power Utility Eskom announced on Thursday that load-shedding has been suspended as the demand for electricity has dropped ahead of the long weekend.

Eskom requests the public to continue using electricity sparingly as the system remains vulnerable and unstable.

The utility currently has 9 170 MW on planned maintenance, while another 11 334 MW capacity is unavailable due to unplanned maintenance.

“Eskom will communicate timeously should there be any significant changes to the powered system.”
