Four hundred and sixty five people have died after contracting corona virus, bringing the total number of deaths of 28,033.
South Africa recorded 17,710 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours. This is the highest number of new infections recorded daily since the virus hit the country.
Gauteng recorded 41 deaths, Kwa Zulu Natal 144 , Eastern Cape 88 , Limpopo 16, Western Cape 165 and Northern Cape 7.
Recoveries stand at 867 597, which translates to 83%. People are urged to observe health protocols put in place.
