Six suspects, aged between 28 and 35, are expected to appear in the Potchefstroom Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 28 December 2020, on a charge of dealing in drugs.
Colonel Adele Myburg said the suspects were arrested on Wednesday, 23 December 2020, in Ikageng.
“The Potchefstroom Flying Squad in collaboration with the Potchefstroom Crime Prevention, acted quickly and seized 59 kg of dagga and more than 200 tablets, suspected to be Mandrax, all with estimated street value of more than R1 million.” Explained Myburg.
The North West Police Commissioner, Lieutenant General Sello Kwena congratulated SAPS for their quick response that led to this arrest. Kwena urged members of the public to report suspected criminal activities at their local police stations.
