Twelve suspects were arrested earlier today in Barberton Mines, Mpumalanga for illegal mining.
Captain Dineo Sekgotodi said a disruptive operation took place and they confiscated one rifle, generators, chemicals and other equipments that the suspects used to process the gold bearing materials.
“The operation is still continuing and more arrests are imminent”, highlighted Sekgotodi.
The suspects will appear in court soon.
