Two hundred and sixteen people died in South Africa over the last 24 hours after contracting coronavirus, Eastern Cape 97, Free State 4, Gauteng 16, Kwa-Zulu Natal 15 and Western Cape 84 .
This brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 24 907.
A total of 630 711 COVID-19 cases have been identified with 8 789 infections identified.
So far, 796 346 people have recovered from COVID-19 in South Africa. People are urged to observe the health measures put in place.
