The AmaZulu FC has unveiled Benni McCarthy on Monday evening as the new head coach of the team after the departure of Ayanda Dlamini.

Dlamini voluntarily left the job earlier this week. Former Cape Town City coach McCarthy will be assisted by Allan Freese.

During the announcement, the Usuthu President Sandile Zungu said this appointment will help them to be in the top four of the premier league log.

“Mr. McCarthy comes with the right combination of experience and qualifications we believe will assist us in achieving the goals we have set for ourselves,” he said.

Zungu further said they have been decisive in their objectives and what they want achieve as club and as a brand.

“That is why we sought to secure the right coach at the earliest possible time. I want to thank our new coach and his representatives for ensuring that we were able to come to agreeable terms as soon as we did. He will immediately join the players and get to know them,” concluded Zungu.

McCarthy thanked Zungu for the opportunity. His first task is the KwaZulu-Natal derby against rivals Golden Arrows on 16 December 2020 at the King Power Stadium.
