Power Utility Eskom urges the public to reduce the usage of electricity as the system is severely constrained.

While there is no load shedding anticipated, Eskom is warning the public there is a high probability of load-shedding should it lose any further capacity.

This power shortage has been used by the loss of multiple generation units and high loads losses, in addition to the generation units that are already placed in planned maintenance.

Eskom has 7 532 MW on planned maintenance, while another 10 853 MW of capacity is out on unplanned maintenance. Eskom is urging south Africans to continue using electricity sparingly in order to assist it to reduce the risk of load-shedding
