Daughter Sentenced To 23 Years for Mother’s Murder

A 27-year-old daughter and two men from Zone 1 Seshego outside Polokwane in Limpopo were sentenced to jail for a combined 53 years by the Polokwane High Court on Tuesday.

The daughter, Violet Mabina is said to have hired two men, Brian Ndlovu aged 24 and Wilmington Shumbayaonda aged 27 to kill her mother, Nancy Mabina aged 53 over family conflict in an exchange for R100 000.

Ndlovu and Shumbayaonda executed the plan as they went to the house at Zone 01, Seshego on 15 April 2020 at about 02:00 in the morning where the daughter, the “mastermind” Mabina opened and let them into the house, making it to appear as burglary.

She pointed them to where her mother was sleeping before she went to her own bedroom.

The police spokesperson Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo said the duo then attacked the deceased, stabbed her several times with a knife, robbed her of cellphone and fled the scene. The deceased was certified dead on the scene.

 Mabina was sentenced to 23 years imprisonment and her two co-accused, were each sentenced to 15 years imprisonment.
