The civil rights organisation AfriForum will today publish an extensive report, “Serial rape in South Africa”.
The report identifies rape and sexual assault trends, as well as the main motives and beliefs behind the high numbers.
AfriForum Head of Research Barend Uys said the report unpacks how the South African legal system has dealt with the matter, highlighting in particular its failings in this regard.
AfriForum will publish this report in support of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-based Violence to challenge violence against women and girls. This international campaign runs every year from 25 November to 10 December.
