A truck which was carrying lime plunged inside the Capitec bank on Cnr Retief and Thabo Mbeki road in Mokopane in Limpopo last night.
It is reported that the truck driver lost control and a truck ended up inside the bank. Five cars (sedans) were involved in the accident. Other drivers were rushed to hospital while one driver in a sedan was burnt beyond recognition.
According to information received from a source at the scene, truck driver was avoiding a head-on collision with a bakkie which was turning to the East direction.
Apparently the truck driver and the passenger were trapped in the truck which has plunged inside the bank. Six people died.
The Mogalakwena Local Municipality Mayor Andrina Matsemela was at the scene, sympathized with shop owners.
