Five alleged business robbers arrested

Police arrested five suspects believed to be behind the armed business robbery that took place on 18 November 2020 at the Post Office in Attridgeville.

Brigadier Mathapelo Peters said on Wednesday morning ,18 November 2020 at around 10h30, the police responded to a complaint of business robbery at Attridgeville post office, and immediately mobilised maximum resources to trace the suspects.

“On the day of the incident, 5 unknown men, two of them clad in post office staff uniform, entered the post offices and allegedly held staff and clients at gunpoint, and took an undisclosed amount of money.” Said Brigadier Peters.

The five suspects aged between 23 and 43, who were all arrested on Thursday 26 November 2020 in different parts of Attridgeville. Police seized, post office uniforms, as well as a vehicle suspected of having been used during the commission of the business robbery.

The suspects will appear before court in due course, on charges of business robbery and murder.
