Maritzburg United on Thursday announced the appointment of Ernst Middendorp as the head coach for what will be his fourth spell at the club.
The former Kaizer Chiefs coach had signed a three-year deal with the KwaZulu-Natal side.
The Team of Choice Chairperson Farook Kadodia said he is looking forward to having Middendorp in the club. “We extend a warm welcome home to Ernst and we look forward to renewing what has always been an amicable relationship,” the Chairperson said.
Furthemore, Kadodia said at this point, after a tough start to the season, some stability is crucial.
The German coach is no stranger to the club, he has coached it 3 seasons, now making it the forth one. Kadodia said Middendorp knows the club inside out, understanding the culture of the team, “we are confident that he’s the best man for the job and will be able to hit the ground running.”
The chairperson further emphasized the unity in the club and he trust that together with Ernst, everyone at the club will work hard and pull together in the same direction to get this season back on track.
