A grade 6 learner died after a jojo tank fell on her in Bankfontein Combined School in the Steve Tshwete Local Municipality on Wednesday, 25 November 2020.
Mpumalanga MEC for Education, Mr Bonakele Majuba has already mandated the Department to institute an investigation into the matter.
“We are deeply saddened by the unfortunate passing on of our grade 6 learner at Bankfontein Combined School . I wish to express our deepest condolences to the bereaved parents and the family as well as the Bankfontein School Community for this loss of a young life.”
The MEC will on Thursday, 26 November 2020 at 08H30 , visit the school and the bereaved family to pay his respect to the late learner.
