The Democratic Alliance (DA) on Tuesday announced the appointment of Siviwe Gwarube as the new National Spokesperson, following a decision taken on Monday, 23 November 2020 at a Federal Executive meeting .
In addition to her duties, Gwarube will continue to serve as a shadow minister of health.
DA leader John Steenhuisen said he worked closely with Gwarube in recent years, both as member of Parliamentary caucus and on their Covi-19 and Lockdown response team.
” I have full confidence in her abilities to fulfil this important role for our party. She brings a wealth of political experience as well as a level-headed maturity to this key position.”
Steenhuisen thanked two outgoing spokespersons, Refiloe Nt’sekhe and Solly Malatsi, for their professional and committed service in these roles since 2015 and 2018 respectively.
