Over the last 24 hours, sixty five more people died in South Africa after contracting coronavirus, 26 from Eastern Cape, 19 from Free State , Gauteng 2, Limpopo 3 , North West 8 and 7 from Western Cape. This brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 20 968 .
The number of detected Covid-19 cases is 769 759 with 2 080 new cases identified.
The number of tests conducted to date is 5 305 343 with 14 377 new tests conducted since the last report.
The recovery rate is 92,4% meaning that 711 195 people have so far recovered.
People are urged to adhere to safety measures in place, wearing masks and maintaining social distance and to always sanitize their hands or wash them with soap and water.
