One hundred and nineteen more people died in South Africa after contracting coronavirus, 36 from Eastern Cape ,11 from Western Cape, 42 from Gauteng , 22 from Free State, 7 from KwaZulu Natal and 1 from Mpumalanga. This brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 20 433.
The number of detected Covid-19 cases is 754 256 with 1 987 new cases identified.
The number of tests conducted to date is 5 160 877 with 17 930 new tests conducted since the last report.
The recovery rate is 92,4 % meaning that 696 820 people have so far recovered.
People are urged to adhere to safety measures in place, wearing mask and maintaining social distance and to always sanitize their hands or wash them with soap and water.
