Minister Didiza extends the closing date for leasing of state agricultural land application

The Minister of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development, Thoko Didiza (MP), has extended the closing date of the state agricultural land application process to 20 November 2020.

The Minister announced on 1 October 2020 that the application process would commence on 15 October and close on 16 November 2020.

Minister said on Monday 16 October, towards the closing time, the number of applicants, both online and at district offices, increased. “Upon closure of offices a number of applicants were still not yet processed. Following consultations within the department, we have taken a decision to extend the closing date from Monday until Friday, 20 November 2020 at 16H00” said Minister Didiza.

 Minister urged all those who still wish to apply to continue doing so during this extended time.

“The application process will still be done both manually at all our departmental district offices, except Gauteng and Western Cape where there are no pieces of land available for advertising as stated before and online on our departmental website: (click on state agricultural land and online applications).

The Department said it is humbled by the response it has received so far, following the call by the minister for application of the leasing of the agricultural State land.
