53 Covid-19 deaths, 2237 new cases identified

Fifty three more people died in South Africa after contracting coronavirus, 34 from Eastern Cape , 8 from Western Cape, 6 from Free State and 5 from KwaZulu Natal. This brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 20 206.

The number of detected Covid-19 cases is 749 182 with 2237 new cases identified.

The number of tests conducted to date is 5 110 384 with 23 497 new tests conducted since the last report.

The recovery rate is 92,5 % meaning that 693 261 people have so far recovered.

On his national address on Wednesday, 18, November 2020, President Cyril Ramaphosa said if people adhere to safety measures in place, wearing mask and maintaining social distance, there wouldn’t be a need for a harder lock down.
