Gauteng Police arrested two suspects between the age of 25 and 26 for attempted carjacking and attempted murder at Delvers and Albertina Sisulu Street in the early hour of Thursday, the 05th of November 2020.
It is alleged that the suspects attempted to hijack a 36-year- old male driving a Silver grey Nissan Micra on the 24th of October 2020 at 23:00.
Brigadier Dylan Perumal said the victim was standing outside his car busy on the cellphone while waiting for his girlfriend.
“ One suspect jumped into his car and his accomplice stabbed him twice at the back. They drove off with his car for few meters and it switched itself off. They jumped out and ran away. He was taken to hospital where he was treated and discharged.”
Good working relationship between the community and the police led to the arrests of the suspects.
Perumal issued a strong warning to the criminals to think twice before coming to Johannesburg CBD to commit crime.
