The Limpopo MEC for Social Development in Limpopo Nkakareng Rakgoale reacted with shock to the death of a 28-year old man who was allegedly stabbed to death by his girlfriend at Khujwana village outside Tzaneen on Sunday night.
It is alleged that the deceased left home from Mokgoloboto village to visit his girlfriend at Khujwana village. Upon arrival, an argument ensued between the couple and the deceased allegedly started to assault the woman outside the house. Subsequently, the girlfriend allegedly took a sharp object and stabbed her boyfriend on his body.
The Police were summoned and on arrival at the crime scene , the deceased was found lying in a pool of blood and he was declared dead by the paramedics. The woman was arrested and charged with murder.
MEC Rakgoale said “Our message to all people who are in relationships or families that are facing difficulties is to always make sure that they seek professional assistance. We have social workers who are able to intervene and come up with peaceful solutions for couples who are facing challenges.”
Rakgoale has sent her heartfelt condolences to the family of the victim.
Provincial police commissioner General Ledwaba said community members are advised and encouraged to consult with the local professionals in case of any social related problem, rather than resorting to violence and killing each other.
