Self-proclaimed prophet Shepherd Bushiri and his wife Mary,  will hear the outcome of their request to be released on bail  on Wednesday.

‘Major 1’ as he is known, his wife, Landiwe and Ntlokwana William and Mary Mudola will know on Wednesday whether they will be given an opportunity to go home.

However, the fifth suspect Willah Mudolo did not apply for bail since he was caught trying to escape the country on many occasions.

The suspects are facing fraud, corruption and money laundering of R102 million. The state has told the court that Major 1 shipped luxurious cars such as Bentley and Maserati to Malawi illegally.

Furthermore, the state also said Bushiri and his wife are flight risks, opposing his bail application. They have been held in Kgosi Mampuru Correctional Centre for two weeks now.

For the reason for postponement, Magistrate Thandi Theledi said she needs the whole of Tuesday to consider the arguments and make her judgment on Wednesday.
