Over the last 24 hours, 721 770 COVID-19 cases have been recorded in South Africa with 2 056 new cases identified since the last report.
Health Ministry reported 53 new COVID-19 related deaths: 37 from Eastern Cape , 4 from Gauteng, 5 from Free State, 2 from Mpumalanga and 5 from KwaZulu Natal. This brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 19 164.
The number of tests conducted to date is 4 777 609 with 25 013 new tests conducted since the last report
The recovery rate is 90% meaning that 649 935 people have so far recovered.
People are urged to observe social distancing and wash their hands with soap and water or alcohol based sanitizer.
