The Police in Dennilton in Limpopo have opened a case of murder after the Station Commander of Groblersdal, Colonel Lebyane Jeffrey Seroka aged 57, was shot and killed by unknown assailant(s) in front of his house at Mmaganagobuswa village at Saturday 17 October 2020.

The suspect(s) fled the scene with Seroka’s white Toyota Hilux.

The provincial spokesperson Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo said a manhunt immediately ensued for the suspects and the vehicle was later found abandoned along the Dennilton-Maklerekeng road.

Preliminary police investigations revealed that the deceased woke up early in the morning and prepared to go to a funeral. At about 04h30, he went out of the house and as he was about to leave, he was shot dead in front of his gate.

“The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo Lieutenant General Nneke Ledwaba has instructed the police to work hard to make sure the killers are hunted down and brought to book. All the necessary and available resources have been mobilized to implement the 72-hour Activation Plan towards the apprehension of the suspect(s).” Said Mojapelo.

The motive for the murder of Seroka is unknown and the police are investigating.
