A 29-year-old woman from Free State allegedly poisoned her five children aged from 6-month-old to 8 years in Phamong Village in QwaQwa on Saturday.
It is reported that the mother argued with her boyfriend. The mother and two of her children died on the scene, the other two children died later in hospital while a 6-month-baby is still recovering in hospital.
The provincial police have opened an inquest and murder case in which they will be investigating.
The police spokesperson Brigadier Motantsi Makhele said “She apparently left her marital house and returned to her parents’ home with her kids. It was on Saturday when the mother found her 29-year-old daughter and her five children laying on the floor. A case of inquest and murder case has been registered for further investigation.”
