The African National Congress (ANC) Ward 27 Councillor in the Greater Letaba Local Municipality in Limpopo ,Ngwako Lawrence Seshoka aged 58, briefly appeared at Kgapane Magistrates Court On Wednesday morning for allegedly raping a 14-year-old girl.
Seshoka abandoned his bail application saying he still want to consult with his legal team. He is alleged to have offered the victim a lift on Thursday, 01 October 2020 at about 12:00. Instead of taking her home, he then drove into the bushes next to Rampepe village where he allegedly raped her.
In attendance of his court appearance this morning were the members of the ANC Women’s League who chanted against the Seshoka. They said he should not be given bail as he is facing serious charges.
The provincial MEC for Social development Nkakareng Rakgoale, also attended the court proceedings. She said government wants to see an end to the Gender Based Violence that are happening in many parts of the province.
Seshoka will be back in court on 19 November for a bail application.
