Over the last 24 hours, 694 537 COVID-19 cases have been recorded in South Africa and 1 178 new cases have been identified.
The total number of reported COVID-19 related deaths in South Africa currently stands at 18 028.
Health Ministry reported 165 new COVID-19 related deaths, 31 from Eastern Cape , 31 from Gauteng, 4 from Mpumalanga, 28 Free State, and 11 from Western Cape, 5 Northern Cape, and 50 from KwaZulu Natal.
The recovery rate is 90% meaning that 625 574 people have so far recovered.
People are urged to observe social distancing and wash their hands with soap and water or alcohol based sanitizer.
