Police Hunt Murder, Hijacking Suspects

The Police in Bolobedu outside Tzaneen in Limpopo have launched a manhunt for three unknown suspects who allegedly hijacked a 51-year-old man, and later killed him at Maphalle village last night.

It is said that the victim was allegedly in the company of his wife, driving a VW Jetta, from Gauteng to Ga-Maphalle village, when he saw three unknown males walking along the road. He stopped and   apparently offered them a lift on an agreed payment to the nearby village of Makgakgapaji.

“On the way, the suspects produced firearms and pointed at the driver. The woman managed to jump out of a moving car. The suspects  drove off with the male victim,” said the police provincial spokesperson Colonel Mamphaswa Seabi .

The Police Detectives and Vehicle Crime Investigation Unit (VCIU) members were immediately notified about the incident.

Maphaswa said the vehicle was found along the gravel road at Maphalle Village and the victim was also found dead inside. He was identified as Peter Ramoshaba from Maphalle village.

The motive for the incident will be determined by the unfolding police investigations.
