In an effort to clean up the streets of Mzansi, the Hawks members from Pietermaritzburg Serious Organised Crime unit working together with Crime Intelligence in KwaZulu-Natal have arrested Zolile Zikalala (40) and Katlego Phahlane (24) for dealing with drugs.
This comes after the Hawks received a tip off about a motor vehicle that was transporting drugs.
“The said vehicle was stopped on the N3 near Hilton and the search was conducted. Upon searching the vehicle approximately 30 000 mandrax tablets were found. The street value of the seized drugs is estimated to R1.5 million.” Said Hawks spokesperson Captain Simphiwe Mhlongo.
The two suspects were arrested and charged for dealing with drugs.
They appearance at the Pietermaritzburg Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, 8 October 2020 and were remanded in custody.
Zikalala and Phahlane will appear again for bail application on 15 October 2020 at the same court.
