After departing from Mamelodi Sundowns, Pitso Mosimane has joined the Egyptian side, Al Ahly on a two year contract. Mosimane is the first South African to lead the African giant club.
I n a statement on Thursday Al Ahly said that the board have parted ways with Rene Weiler and announced that he is no longer the first team coach, as part of the board’s decisions issued during the board meeting held on Thursday morning.
Mosimane and his assistants will lead the team, starting from Friday 2 October 2020.
In supporting Mosimane, the team has given him staff which includes an assistant coach, fitness coach and performance analyst. In addition to assistant coach Sami Komsan, goalkeeper Coach Michel Iannacone and director of football Sayed Abdelhafiz who kept their position in the coaching staff.
Mosimane made a plea to the Egyptian side that they should give him space and time, he will take Al Ahly to the next level.
