The decorated Pitso Mosimane is said to have resigned as Mamelodi Sundowns coach to pave his way to join one between the African giants, Al Ahly in Egypt and Wydad Casablanca of Morocco.
TimesLIVE reports that Mosimane, who won his fifth South African championship with Sundowns last month, begins his new job as soon as he is available.
The publication said Mosimane was apparently approached after he won Sundowns’ 10th Premiership title on a last day if the league games to overtake Kaizer Chiefs who had been in the driving seat of the title race all season.
Mosimane still have four-year contract with Sundowns. Under his belt, he has 11 trophies in his eight years at Sundowns.
TimeLIVE reported that Sundowns’ Yogesh Singh as saying “We have seen these things on the online media about Pitso being linked to Al Ahly. But he has not resigned. This speculation comes because the coach of Al Ahly resigned on Sunday.”
