The Level 1 coronavirus regulations allow students on the 50% capacity to be back at the campuses and the University of South Africa (Unisa) has opened its Sunnyside Campus and Science Campus in Florida today (29 September).
The university says as the higher education department said students can go back, they must all ensure that staff and students are kept safe.
Unisa will ensure that no venue exceed 50% capacity. Larger venues may have a maximum of 250 people, as long as this does not exceed 50% of the normal capacity.
Social distancing protocols will be adhered to at all times. This includes two-metre distancing and the wearing of masks.
Unisa regional offices and other student service points will start opening for students from 1 October 2020 onwards.Students who wish to visit a Unisa regional office will be required to make an appointment via the Unisa Booking app which will be communicated to students soon.
