In a bizarre act of criminality in South Africa, the Newcastle Local Municipality is looking for a suspect who got away with its vacancy drop-box on Monday.
The statement which the municipality released on Monday said the suspect is believed to have made off with the box around 10:30am (21 September 2020)
“At this stage it is not clear whether the suspect was working alone or had assistance. The municipality believes that the suspect will target unsuspecting job applicants, and will try to solicit money from them, for jobs in return.
The suspect in this case was wearing a yellow face mask, white hat, blue jean, black sneakers and a grey jersey.
Members of the public with information are urged to contact the municipality or the police. An investigation is underway.
