A 51-year-old suspect is expected to appear at Brits Magistrate Court on Friday,18 September for being in possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition. He was arrested on Wednesday, 16 September 2020.
An intelligence driven operation by the North West Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime Investigation, assisted by members of Provincial Crime Intelligence, Brits Tactical Response Team and Local Criminal Record Centre, led to the arrest of this suspect.
The suspect’s home was searched where different kinds of firearms and ammunition were allegedly found. They included, a 9mm pistol, a shotgun, two rifles a dart gun and a large quantity of ammunition. All exhibits were seized for further investigation.
