South Africa records 101 new Covid-19 deaths

Over the last 24 hours, South Africa recorded 636 884 confirmed COVID-19 with 1 806 news cases identified. The total number of tests conducted to date is 3 783 823 with 18 123 new tests conducted since the last report. Health Ministry regrettably reported 101 new COVID-19 related deaths- 11 from Eastern Cape, 16 from Gauteng, 45 from KwaZulu Natal, 10 from Western Cape and 19 from Free State.

This brings the total of reported COVID-19 related deaths to 14 779. The number of recoveries currently stands at 561 204 which translates to a recovery rate of 88% .

People are urged to wash their hands with water and soap or alcohol-based sanitizer and to always maintain social distance.
