Over the last 24 hours, South Africa recorded 622 551 confirmed COVID-19 . The total number of tests conducted to date is 3 652 970 with 20 659 new tests conducted since the last report. Health Ministry regrettably reported 238 new COVID-19 related deaths- 6 from Eastern Cape, 81 from Gauteng, 19 from KwaZulu Natal, 9 from Western Cape and 123 from Free State.
This brings the total of reported COVID-19 related deaths to 13 981. The number of recoveries currently stands at 536 694 which translates to a recovery rate of 86% .
People are urged to wash their hands with water and soap or alcohol-based sanitizer and to always maintain social distance.
