Black Leopards got a deserving 3-2 win against Maritzburg United at the FNB stadium on Sunday afternoon. Leopards started off the game pretty well and got a corner kick at the 15 minutes but the chance was wasted.
Five minutes later Maritzburg United’s goal keeper, Richard Ofori made a silly mistake which which cost him a lot when Mwape Musonda used the chance and scored the first goal of the match. A minute later Leopards showed how dedicated it was when it had another chance but Lifa Hlongwane could not score.
The team of Choice was now on the defence for a while as Thabiso Kutumela gave Hlongwane another chance but it ended up being wide.
30 minutes into the game Hlongwane final finally found the back of the net after Musonda was stopped by Ofori.
Maritzburg became present in the game when Keagam Buchanan found the back of the net during a free kick they got just outside the box. Right before half time Mxolisi Kunene scored a beautiful equalising goal.
The second half started with Leopards still playing like a team that wanted a win. During the 52nd minute it proved its point when Tiklas Thutlwa scored the winning goal making it 3-2.
Maritzburg made changes and tried to come find the equalizer but Leopards was on the watch. Currently, Leopards still stands at the bottom of the league as Maritzburg also stays on number six after this loss.
