The Department of Energy and Mineral Resources on Monday confirmed that South Africa will see another fuel price hike
The retail price of petrol will increase by about 0.33%, while the price of wholesale diesel will rise by nearly 3.5%, the energy department said. As of Wednesday, 5th August, the price of petrol will increase by 5 cents to 15.17 rand per litre, while diesel will rise by 45 cents to 13.48 rand per litre.
The department mentioned in a statement that rand depreciation against the US dollar is the reason for the increase.
